WHAT IS THE LIVING WELL PARTNERSHIP?
The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong (LMO), the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation (HKAHF) - Healthy Lifestyle Fund (HLF) and eco-jewelry brand, niin, have united to launch the Living Well Partnership. Inspired by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s sustainability programme and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the partnership promotes health and well-being, clean water and sanitation, encourages responsible production and consumption, and combats hunger in our city.
The Landmark Mandarin Oriental’s continued engagement with social responsibility goes hand-in-hand with its sustainable partners’ initiatives. Projects such as providing complimentary in-house filtered Nordaq FRESH water and plans for a rooftop garden with Rooftop Republic are key elements of our Living Well concept.
HOW DOES THE LIVING WELL PARTNERSHIP WORK?
The Living Well Partnership, hosted by The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, promotes sustainable living and raises funds for the HLF which works with local charity partners J Life Foundation and Chicken Soup Foundation to provide wellness programmes for those in need. Services include the preparation and distribution of vegetarian meal boxes for the poor, healthy lunches for underprivileged schools and every-day essentials for families struggling to make ends meet. HLF also organizes community events to promote awareness of healthy eating and sustainable sourcing. These initiatives are entirely supported by private donors.
Sustainable Innovations
The new collaboration of LMO with Nordaq FRESH provides invigorating freshly filtered and purified water for all guests, and reduces use of plastic bottles and the carbon emissions generated by transporting bottled mineral water from Europe to Hong Kong. A soon-to-be-unveiled 5th floor rooftop garden at LMO in collaboration with Rooftop Republic will provide Amber with fresh herbs, baby vegetables and flowers.
Go Green in your room
Use LMO’s eco-friendly wheat toothbrush and sustainably sourced paraben and chemical-free bathroom amenities from Cochine Saigon. Go plastic-free with glass bottles for water and purchase a reusable, compressible, BPA free bottle home.
